Dietary treatment begins with the completion of a medical record to identify any existing conditions, followed by a full examination including assessment of the thyroid, heart, lungs and abdomen.
As a physician, I also review blood tests and other medical reports.
The consultation concludes with a non-invasive measurement of skinfold thickness using a skinfold caliper, as well as measurement of weight and height.
I also assess levels of physical activity (as a sedentary lifestyle contributes to obesity, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis and anxiety) and evaluate eating habits, food preferences and meal times.
A positive note:
in my dietary programme there is almost nothing to weigh.
